Full Description
The Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) course equips students to deliver prehospital assessment and care for patients of all ages facing various medical conditions and traumatic injuries. The curriculum covers introduction to emergency medical services systems, roles and responsibilities of EMRs, anatomy and physiology, medical emergencies, trauma, special considerations for the prehospital setting.

This course will be offered in a hybrid format over 11 weeks. Students are required to attend a mandatory Zoom Orientation on the first day of class. The next 11 weeks will be conducted online through the MSFA Learning Management System (LMS) as a self-study module. Final exam testing will be held on the campus of MSFA the last week of course.

TO SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETE THE COURSE: Students must achieve a cumulative average of 75% or higher on all chapter quizzes and course final. Also, student must successfully demonstrate all State required skills.

Once a student has met all required criteria. All proper documentation will be reported to the Mississippi Department of Health and NREMT for National Registry exam Eligibility.
