Brief Description: 2026 FIREFIGHTER I/II, NFPA 1010 (ALL APPLICANTS FOR 2026)

Full Description: This delivery is for all applicants needing Firefighter I/II, NFPA 1010 for the 2026 Calendar Year. This comprehensive program prepares entry-level firefighters to perform interior and exterior fire suppression activities safely and effectively in accordance with NFPA 1010 standards. Students receive instruction in fire behavior, PPE and SCBA use, search and rescue, ladders, hose handling, ventilation, and incident command. Hands-on training and live-fire scenarios build confidence and skill through progressive learning. Completion of this program qualifies students for IFSAC/ProBoard certification at the Firefighter I and II levels and provides the foundation for a successful fire service career.

Training Dates: 01/01/2026 - 12/31/2026

Prerequisites: Provide a copy of a current CPR Card issued by American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or equivalent
Completion of the Hazardous Materials Awareness and Operations Course, NFPA 470.
Upload a copy of the certificate or proof of meeting Emergency Medical Care Requirements (MSCB Form) or First Responder Training, EMT, First Aid Class.
Completion of the Mississippi Trainee Agility Test (MSTAT).
Upload a completed MSCB Physical Examination Release Form (MSCB-04 revised 10/2025). The signed form is valid for one year; however, it must remain valid from the exam date through the entire duration of the scheduled delivery.
Provide a copy of H. S. diploma or GED notarized by issuing institution or school board, Letter from school board with student’s name, SSN, & graduation date, or copy of transcript from a junior college or four year university.
Provide a copy or image of the driver license, government issued photo I. D., or notarized Birth Certificate showing proof of age for the student.

Resources Required: Students are required to bring full Personal Protective Equipment. If taking the on-campus program, we will provide an SCBA for you upon arrival.

Reporting Instructions: If taking the on-campus program, students are required to report to the assigned classroom by 8:00am the Monday morning or the start of the course.

Signup Details: To signup for this course please contact your Training Coordinator. This single delivery will be used for all applicants needing the Firefighter I/II, NFPA 1010 course. Everyone will apply for this delivery, then the Mississippi State Fire Academy registrar's office will be able to transfer the registration to any open delivery throughout the year.
