The Field delivery EMR course is designed to allow fire departments to deliver the course in a format similar to the on-campus hybrid class. This program consists of 11 weeks and will be conducted online through the MSFA Learning Management System (LMS). Course Final Exam and Skills testing is scheduled and conducted through the Mississippi State Fire Academy.  

The Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) course equips students to deliver prehospital assessment and care for patients of all ages facing various medical conditions and traumatic injuries. The curriculum covers introduction to emergency medical services systems, roles and responsibilities of EMRs, anatomy and physiology, medical emergencies, trauma, special considerations for the prehospital setting.

TO SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETE THE COURSE: Students must achieve a cumulative average of 75% or higher on all chapter quizzes and course final. Also, student must successfully demonstrate all State required skills.

Once a student has met all required criteria. All proper documentation will be reported to the Mississippi Department of Health and NREMT for National Registry exam Eligibility.
